Getting away to enjoy the surroundings

In an attempt to let the rest of the world in on the land of the rising sun the Marines here in Tokyo have put together a homepage for those Marines, family of Marines, and individuals with an overall interest in the life of a Marine Security Guard lives. Japan has a very rich history and Tokyo operates as one of the chief financial meccas for not only the southeast but the rest of the world. US-Japanese relations are diligently kept by our counterparts here at the State Department as all of us are diplomats for America whenever we are abroad. This site still has a long way to go but it will soon have photos and voices to allow anyone who wants a chance to stay in touch with the Marines of this detachment.

Being a Marine means constantly being ready for any skirmish that might break out in the world. That is why Sgt. Luis Santana works diligently at maintaining the training schedule and helping Marines keep on track for college and their MCI's. Every Marine is assigned to a special collateral duty that allows him to contribute to the detachment.

Work hard and play hard! Many Marines here have the chance to go out and experience different parts of this facsinating city. With as recent as the Winter Olympics many Marines have had the chance to experience events that will provide memories for a lifetime. In this metropoliton area of 30 million there is never a shortage of things to do. The embassy clo has a ton of useful information to make any Marines stay here a pleasant one. The detachment has about two parties a month that help raise money for the Marine Corps ball and also allow for the embassy community to come together and unwind at the Marine BEQ
